Three Delicious Recipes for Iced Tea Month

June is National Iced Tea Month,
so to celebrate, we have provided some information on the event and three delicious ways for you to enjoy your summer iced tea.

There are several ices tea recipes, mainly drawn from various cultures and countries depending on what they value most in this international beverage.

Peach Iced Tea Recipe

One of the most unique recipes is the peach iced tea, which incorporates this popular summer fruit into the recipe. Mainly the recipe calls for peach juice and lemon juice to be added into a portion of tea. The mixture is then stirred
thoroughly and the portions depend on your own personal taste. Once the mixture is completely mixed, then it is placed into the refrigerator to cool it.

Southern Sweet Tea Recipe

The southern sweet tea is often considered to have originated in North Carolina. This is the most basic of iced tea recipes. To start, simply boil four glasses of water completely. Once the water is boiled, the next step is to soak tea bags into the water, typically black tea. Once you have made the mixture, the next steps simply to add sweetener and lemon to your own taste and chill the mixture. The southern sweet tea is best served with ice cubes and is a refreshing beverage if prepared properly. In order to make the recipe more unique you can add some leaves of mint to spice up the tea.

Thai Iced Tea Recipe

Thai iced tea is probably the spiciest and strongest of all iced tea recipes. This is mainly because it draws its unique taste not from one but several spices from Thailand. One requires four tea bags of your choice or tea leaves that you often use to make your own normal tea. This should be added to boiling water to make a strong tea mixture.

Then add some sweeteners and condensed milk into the mixture, and mix thoroughly until there are no particles and the mixture is completely smooth. Then add some spices such as mint, almond extract, cinnamon and cardamom. You can serve the Thai iced tea on a tall glass filled with iced cubes.

Three Ways to Improve Your Photos for Nature Photography Day

Nature Photography Day - June 15June 15th is Nature Photography Day. To celebrate, we have provided you with three easy tips you can apply to make your nature photographs the best they can.

Have a Love of Nature

The first and most important tip in nature photography is to ensure that you love the subject you plan to photograph. For example bird watchers often have the most amazing photographs of birds because they love birds, and are willing to spend time finding the perfect shot.

Nature photography involves no posing and the subjects you pursue are not aware that they are a subject of interest. It may therefore take more than a few seconds to make the shot. If the subject is of no interest to you then you may either get frustrated or even bored in what should be an amazing journey to photography. Wildlife photographers may spend hours or even days observing the subject on interest in order to gauge how they can get a perfect shot.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Secondly it is important to practice taking pictures especially those that are nature concerned. Practice allows you to be more confident when taking the pictures. Many people practice photography on family and friends and forget that nature cannot be coached as human beings are.

It is important to take photos of nature around you. Practice by taking pictures of birds, pets and other forms of nature in your home or area of residence. The more pictures you take, the more you understand the amount of lighting, pixels and other components you need to ensure that you get the pictures you desire. It is important to remember that you can only get better with practice. The more confident you get the better the pictures will be.

Know Your Camera

Third, many people do not take the time to understand the nature and components of their equipment and subjects. many people embark on photographing wildlife for example without understanding exactly how the cameras they are using works. In such a case you will find that photos have too much or too little light, are blurry and do not flatter the subject matter. Take the time to understand all the components of the camera so you can maximize on the use of the equipment.

Similarly, it is important to understand your subject matter and its behavior, in order to make the perfect shot. Read about the birds, animals or any other component of nature in order to understand better how you can communicate with them or entice them to the perfect poses.

Leonardo Da Vinci’s Birthday – April 15th

Leonardo Da Vinci Birthday April 15Leonardo Da Vinci’s Birthday – April 15th

Leonardo Da Vinci is one of the most renowned artists of all time. His works have been the subject of political discussion, academic research, social policy making and even the title of movies in the entertainment industry. Leonardo Da Vinci is well known and recognized for his works in history and in the entire world. Throughout history Leonardo has been recognized as the “renaissance evolutionist”, the man who brought a new outlook to the art world, not only through his paintings but also sculptures and inventions.

Blinding ignorance does mislead us. O! Wretched mortals, open your eyes! ~Da Vinci

There have been many sides to Leonardo that have come up all through the times.
Perhaps the most important function that Da Vinci has played in history and even up to today is to inspire young artists. Before Leonardo Da Vinci came into the picture, painters and artists were confined by their religion, the ruling class and the social environment with regard to the subject of their paintings and works of art. Over history, Leonardo has inspired the art world to produce work not limited by the culture and beliefs of the artist. Art students have over time been inspired by what seems to be endless codes reproduced in the Leonardo’s work. For this reason, art is much more lively and interesting even for the novices.

Secondly, Leonardo’s work is believed to be the source of cryptic messages preserved through time. It seems that the artist was interested in conspiracies and mysteries as well as using his art as a medium to transport and preserve what he thought were interesting and fascinating. For example in recent time Leonardo’s “last supper” has come under much speculation since the movie “Da Vinci code” was released. Scientists, researchers and fellow artist have often tried to find and decode many of the works present by this renowned artist. Whether his work is actually authentic with regard to the messages decoded, is still a question being debated.

Leonardo Da Vinci was not only an artist and inventor, he was also a political activist who fought for the freedom of expression using his talent. Many of his paintings and sculptors, some which have been rumored to have disappeared through time passed a message to the ruling class. His earnings from the art and his work often went to support one revolution or another.

Many of Leonardo’s works are still sketches and skeletons used by students to study the precision and methodology of producing complete and authentic paintings. Professors and art lovers have often used incomplete works and sketches, such as “The Adoration of Magi” and “The Virgin on the rocks”, to teach and show the preciseness applied in panting a complete work of art.

In rivers, the water that you touch is the last of what has passed and the first of that which comes; so with present time. ~Da Vinci

To many students and art lovers, Leonardo Da Vinci is still considered an inspiration and a force to be reckoned with years and decades after his death. His journals continue to give us insight into the history, and time through which he lived. In addition, they explain the philosophy through which this great artist lived by. To some Leonardo Da Vinci is a hero, a force of change, a legend and still to others he continues to remain a mystery.

It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things. ~Da Vinci

Every Day’s a Holiday (When You’re Not Edible)

Respect for Chickens DayEvery Day’s a Holiday (When You’re Not Edible)

A sonnet to celebrate Shakespeare’s birthday, from a literary chicken

Buckawk! Being a chicken doth grow weary,
Even a Shakespearean hen, forsooth—
And tho I peck till mine eyes do go bleary,
I’m still not blind to the batter-fried truth.

But lo! What site has my feathers astir?
Daily Observances, a happy niche
Where thou canst find holidays that occur,
Find a special day, month, or week for each.

At Celebrations Marketing I did spy
National Chicken Month in September.
On Respect for Chickens Day, none shall fry—
For May 4 is a date to remember!

Chickens unite! Peck at some libations,
And enjoy life’s daily celebrations.
